Some parenting issues and ideas are not specific to any particular age or stage. This general parenting section is an assortment of topics, events, workshops and resources that may be of assistance wherever you are on the parenting journey. Even though we tune our parenting to match the maturity of our kids, the basic recipe remains the same right the way through. There are two key ingredients:
- The first is love, expressed though warmth, affection, affirming words and availability.
- The second is boundaries: the limits, rules and structures that keep our kids safe, our homes functioning smoothly and train our children to cope with life.
