Boys vs girls

One of the things I love about school holidays is the way the slower pace prompts interesting conversations.

“Mum,” said my daughter. “You are so lucky to have a girl and a boy.”

I agreed.

“Imagine,“ she said. “Imagine, if you had two boys. That would be terrible.”

“Imagine,” said my son, “if you had two girls. That would be terrible.”

“Imagine,” I said, “if I didn’t have both of you. That would be terrible.”

“S’pose so, “ they said in unison
