New Zealand's family charity

Most of us hope that our kids will grow up to be caring and fun human beings who make great choices – and of course we wouldn't say no to the added bonuses of nice manners and enthusiasm for doing the dishes.

We know that parenting is the hardest job many of us will ever do, and we're here to make sure that New Zealand parents have all the tools and skills needed to comfortably tackle even the trickiest situations, wherever they are on the parenting journey.

Toolbox

Our three Toolbox courses are age-and-stage-based, with practical strategies, ideas and insights to inspire and equip you on your parenting journey – wherever you’re up to. Choose from: Toolbox Preschool Years (2-4 years), Toolbox Primary Years (5-11 years), Toolbox Teenage Years (12+ years).

Space for you and your baby

Having a new baby comes with plenty of beautiful moments and just as many challenges. Space for you and your baby provides an opportunity to grow your village and spend time with other parents, learning and sharing alongside each other for 20-30 weeks. As well as discussion topics such as sleep, attachment and brain development, you’ll enjoy music, books and play experiences while getting to know other new families and building strong relationships in your local community.

Building Awesome Whānau

Building Awesome Whānau draws on the wisdom of mātauranga Māori and the best of Toolbox to offer you and your family a kaupapa that is unique to Aotearoa. Designed for whānau raising children aged 0-12, this course can be delivered over a number of weeks, or as a wānanga.

Parenting Place is a charity

We’re here to walk alongside New Zealand families. The support we receive from a community of generous donors, grant funders and business partners make our work possible. Parenting is the hardest job in the world and our supporters are dedicated to making it easier.
