Te Karere Scarborough

Te Karere Scarborough is of Ngāpuhi descent, and from the sub-tribes of Te Uriroroi, Te Māhurere ki Whatitiri and Te Parawhau. He has worked for Parenting Place for the last 13 years, holding a variety of senior leadership positions. His current role as Kaiwhakawhiri (Director of Strategic Partnerships) is focused on maximising the collective impact between partner organisations throughout the health, education and social services sectors.

Te Karere also serves as an appointed trustee for his hapū board, Whatitiri Māori Reserves Trust and the Anglican kaupapa Māori social service provider, Te Whare Ruruhau o Meri. He is also the executive trustee for a newly formed  trust Oati, an organisation committed to the ongoing reconciliation of tangata whenua and tauiwi.

He is married to Chloe (Ngāi Tai ki Tāmaki) and they have three children – Paora, Hinewai and Mahina.
